Qiviut Mastered With Signature Needles

Signature Needles are precision instruments for knitting, made in the United States. The idea for the company was sparked by Cathryn Bothe, a knitter who also happens to be the president of Bothe Associates Inc., a family-owned manufacturer of metal components in Wisconsin. Arctic Qiviut Winter Dream is a handpainted luxury yarn that blends the soft undercoat of muskox with silk and cashmere – a gossamer confection that proved a challenge while picking up stitches and, well, sheer frustration. Progress on a smoke ring cowl proved slow going until I switched needles. The purring perfection of Signature’s stiletto points (also available in blunt and “middy” versions) make knitting this ethereal lace weight yarn pure pleasure. Having worked on aircraft, I understand the quality of precision machining over time. Each needle is constructed from aircraft quality aluminum, with points that are precision turned and hand polished. Needle colors are size specific and custom options include length, tips and size.
