Warp and weft are at the work in the life work of Martha Burns. Take a passion for textiles and design and weave in a talent for teaching skills to people who want to create – but are stymied by the process. Burns is a designer and artist who knows how to teach so people can learn basic skills and become confident of their own abilities. She also can deconstruct a process or build an idea into reality – as founder of The Studio of Martha Burns, her love of sewing spun off SMB Stitches as a way to combine fiber pursuits and teaching. Putting tools of creativity into her students hands is her passion.
