Peace Fleece is so much more than a yarn company – think of it as an international human relations force using fiber as a how-do-you-do. With offices in a barn on a sheep and horse farm in Maine, the business began with Peter Hagerty and his wife, Marty Tracy, buying wool from the Soviet Union in 1985 with a hope was that through trade they could “help diffuse the threat of nuclear war.”

Pretty large goal, don’t you think? Funny thing is, they’ve achieved that goal and so much more through fiber – meeting people and connecting their work to a marketplace. Continue Reading →
