Color Striping/Shifting: A Series

“Poems” yarn review (how this roving-like color-changer knits up, wears and quirks) along with an interview with Michael del Vecchio, creative director at Universal Yarn – also a designer and his work can be found on Ravelry.
A sea of new yarns are being rolled out by companies. Tonals, self-patterning, color shifting yarns – how those handle from skein to on the needles, pricing – plus the tools that can accent these beautiful fibers.

While putting Noro’s legendary color-shifting yarn (in several different blends and weights) on the needles for our luxury and exotic yarn reviews, our test knitters told stories and shared their passion for this yarn. That sparked an idea – what other possibilities are out there for tonal yarns that change hues or create patterns as they are knit up? There must be companies now creating new lines and colors possibilities. So, in conjunction with our series on luxury and exotics, we’ll blend in our experiences from the field.
