Fiber Events – On The Weekend

Garden State Sheep Breeders present the 16th Annual New Jersey Sheep & Fiber Festival, Hunterdon County Fairgrounds, Sept. 11 and Sept. 12.

“Woad, The European Blue” is ongoing until Sept. 1, with Michele Wipplinger at Long Ridge Farm in New Hampshire. Woad is a natural blue dye native to Europe and the British Isles. For information on other offerings, call Nancy Zeller at (603) 313-8393.

When visiting a yarn store, ask (or look) for yarns produced by area artisans. This lovely grouping is at Mystic River Yarns.
A Cheviot ewe at the Middlesex and New Haven Counties 4-H Fair.The first annual Fiber Festival of New England is coming up Nov. 6 and 7, 2010 on the grounds of Eastern States Exposition (ESE). This is a co-production between New England Sheep & Wool Growers and Eastern States Exposition; details at www.nesheep.org, and ESE’s site, www.TheBigE.com.
