Knitters recognize knitters, a tribe of like-minded people who understand the lure of yarn, many works in progress, and the joy there is in making, giving, helping, sharing. Creativity is expressed in many ways, from windows and door decorations, to a simply wrapped gift, or a hand-knit scarf, hat, mittens. There is care and attention along with something intangible to be found inside shops where the owner is also a passionate knitter. There are times when housesitting or visiting – or just being in a jam – resources close by are a necessity.
